Ashley Lindsey Frank, 39, of Dallas, Paulding County, Georgia, United States is accused of operating an online counterfeit handbag store out of his residence. Gatekeeper Global, an international private security company managing high-end brands’ trademarks, discovered the alleged crime.
Gatekeeper Global reported the illegal store to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. On September 18, 2023, an investigation was launched.
On October 4, 2023, Paulding County Sheriff’s Office deputies obtained a warrant to enter and search the residence of Frank in Dallas. The deputies went to the residence where they found more than 12,000 fraudulent accessories, handbags and wallets and many other counterfeit items.
On October 29, 2023, Frank turned herself in and charged with selling goods with forged, counterfeit trademarks, service marks and copyrighted designs, which is a felony. Had the items been legitimate products, the estimated value of items seized at her residence would have been worth $11,675,885.
According to detectives, numerous counterfeited brands were sold out of Frank’s residence. Among the brands were Burberry, Chanel, Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabanna, Fendi, Hermes, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
On October 5, 2022, the residence of Sabrina Allyse Caris, then 34, of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, USA was raided. Pennsylvania State Police troopers discovered around $1.7 million worth of counterfeit clothing, purses, wallets and jewelry with brands that included Adidas, Balenciaga, Burberry, Chanel, Celine, Christian Dior, Coach, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent.
On March 16, 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than $700,000 in counterfeit designer brand name clothes, purses, scarves, sneakers and other items in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. The items bore the designer brand trademarks of Burberry, Chanel, Christian Dior, Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent.
