Neil John Deimer, 53, of Ottawa, Putnam County, Ohio, United States previously lived in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. He is registered to vote in Putnam County and is affiliated with the Republican County.
Recently, Deimer and 13 other men were arrested in Cuyahoga County, Ohio as part of Operation Spider Web. It was a sting operation targeting online child exploitation offenders interested in engaging in sexual activity with whom they believed to be minor children.
The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force coordinated Operation Spider Web from October 26-29, 2023. During this period, Deimer and the 13 other suspects allegedly communicated online with undercover officers who they thought were underage children.
After the online conversations, the 14 suspects allegedly traveled to a pre-arranged meeting spot in Cuyahoga County to have sex. That was where they were arrested by officials from different law enforcement agencies including the offices of Homeland Security Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County.
Deimer was arrested in Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio by Perrysburg Police Department officers. His case will remain under the jurisdiction of the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office.
The police departments of Ohio’s Austintown, Independence, Kelly’s Island, Newburgh Heights, Solon and Streetsboro and the sheriff’s departments of Ohio’s Ottawa County and Portage County participated in Operation Spider Web. Also involved in the operation were the U.S Secret Service, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Cleveland Division of Police.
