Aleia T. Burley, 29, of Dallas, Texas, United States previously lived in Detroit, Michigan, USA. She is a U.S. Army veteran.
In May 2021, Burley joined the Dallas Police Department. She is assigned to South Central Patrol Division.
At around 9:20 a.m. on November 7, 2023, officers from the police department of Carrollton, Texas arrested Burley without incident. She was booked into the Carrollton Police Jail in Carrollton.
Burley is accused of abandoning and endangering a child with intent to return. The Carrollton Police Department did not reveal her relationship with the child and the date and time of the alleged offense.
At the time of the alleged offense, the Dallas Police Department officer was off-duty. After the arrest, the department placed her on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal affairs administrative investigation.
The department has yet to release a statement about Burley’s arrest. She has been released from jail.
