Jean Andre Bontiffe, 40, of Larchmont, Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, New York, United States previously lived in Rosemead, Los Angeles County, California, USA. Aside from Larchmont, he has lived in other parts of New York including New Rochelle.

On July 20, 2022, Bontiffe allegedly entered a TD Bank brand in North Andover, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA, tried to withdraw $4,500 and presented a U.S. passport and a Discover credit card both in the name of a Massachusetts resident with a bank account. He fled after the bank denied the transaction due to unmatched signatures and confiscated his passport and credit card.

Between July 20, 2022 and July 22, 2022, Bontiffe allegedly travelled from the Bronx, New York City, New York to Massachusetts made nine attempts to withdraw money from the band accounts of three residents of Massachusetts. He allegedly stole $13,800.

On August 9, 2022, Bontiffe was arrested after he tried to pass through Transportation Security Administration screening at LaGuardia Airport in East Elmhurst, Queens, New York City with a fake California driver’s license. The name in the license is the name of one of the three Massachusetts residence he allegedly tried to victimized.

On November 6, 2023, Bontiffe was arrested in New York. He was charged with making or using a forged passport, bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. 

At 1:15 p.m. on November 14, 2023, Bontiffe will appear in federal court in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The case is being prosecuted by Luke A. Goldworm, an assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice.
