Ten members and associates of the Gambino organized crime family were recently arrested. They are accused of perpetrating a series of crimes throughout New York, United States and New Jersey, USA from 2017 through 2023.

On November 8, 2023, a 16-count indictment was unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn, New York City, New York charging the 10 arrestees with racketeering conspiracy, extortion, witness retaliation and union-related crimes committed in an attempt to dominate the carting and demolition industries in New York. On the same day, they were arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ramon E. Reyes, Jr

The maximum prison sentences of the 10 defendants range from 20 to 180 years. Here is the list of their names and their respective ages and residences:

  1. Angelo Gradilone, 57, Staten Island, New York (also known as Fifi)
  2. Diego Tantillo, 48, Freehold, New Jersey (also known as Danny and Daniel)
  3. Francesco Vicari, 46, Elmont, New York (also known as Frank and Uncle Ciccio)
  4. James Laforte, 46, New York City, New York (also known as Jimmy)
  5. Joseph Lanni, 52, Staten Island, New York (also known as Joe Brooklyn and Mommino)
  6. Kyle Johnson, 46, Bronx, New York City, New York
  7. Robert Brooke, 55, New York City, New York
  8. Salvatore Dilorenzo, 66, Oceanside, New York
  9. Vincent Minsquero, 36, Staten Island, New York (also known as Vinny Slick)
  10. Vito Rappa, 46, East Brunswick, New Jersey (also known as Vi)

Lanni is an alleged captain in the Gambino organized crime family. Gradilone, LaForte and Tantillo are alleged soldiers of the family.

Rappa and Vicari are alleged Gambino associates and Sicilian Mafia members. DiLorenzo, Brooke, Johnson and Minsquero are alleged Gambino associates. 

Founded by Vincent Mangano in the 1900s and named after Carlo Gambino, the Gambino organized crime family is one of the five historic Italian American mafia families in New York. The others are the Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese and Lucchese families.

Born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, Mangano was 63 when he disappeared on April 19, 1951. He was declared dead in absentia on October 30, 1961.
