Clayton Snider, 22, of New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, United States was at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in Lake Buena Vista, Orange County, Florida, USA on the evening of October 6, 2023. A boy, 10, of Georgia, USA was having dinner with his family at the Grand Floridian Café at the resort that evening.
Snider allegedly used his phone to record the boy while they were using the bathroom at the resort. The boy returned to their table and told his parents that a man had taken photos of him while he was in one of the bathroom stalls.
The boy, accompanied by his father, went back to the bathroom and pointed to Snider as the person who took photos of him. The New Haven man was the only person in the bathroom at the time.
When the father confronted Snider, the New Haven man repeatedly denied what the boy said and left the bathroom. The irate father followed the suspect outside the bathroom.
Initially, Snider did not allow the boy’s family and the resort’s employees to check his phone. He later asked the family if they wanted to see his phone but the family suspected he had deleted incriminating evidence from the phone.
At 9:05 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the resort. Snider handed his phone to the responding deputes and gave them permission to look at his hidden and recently deleted albums.
The deputies found that the last item in the hidden album in Snider’s phone is a video. It depicted an adolescent Caucasian male sitting on a toilet in a bathroom stall.
Snider was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail in Orlando, Orange County. He was charged with video voyeurism.
Despite the video found in Snider’s phone, he pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was released from jail after posting a $5,000 bond.
