Kadeem Ambrose‘s son Karter Ambrose of Georgia, United States was born in 2018. On November 17, 2020, the baby died.
It is still unclear how Karter is related to Kianna Aiesha Renee Davis, 32, of Norcross, Gwinnett County, Georgia and Kiyon Devoy Benton, 32, of Decatur, DeKalb County, Georgia. Between November 15, 2020 and November 17, 2020, Davis and Benton allegedly caused the death of Karter by beating the baby with an object, causing the boy cruel physical pain and lacerating his liver.
Davis and Benton are accused of failing to seek immediate medical attention for Karter’s lacerated liver. The boy’s death was investigated by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, the Houston County District Attorney’s Office and the police department of Warner Robins, Georgia.
On October 18, 2023, a grand jury indicted Davis and Benton. The latter has yet to be arrested.
On November 3, 2023, the Warner Robins Police Department arrested Davis without incident with help from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. At the time, she was a teacher at Seckinger High School in Buford, Georgia although a substitute had been covering her classes for almost two weeks.
Davis was charged with malice murder, felony murder and cruelty to children in the first degree. She also faces aggravated assault and other charges.
