Michelle Solis, 45, of Gridley, Butte County, California, United States is a teacher at the Sycamore Middle School in Gridley. The Gridley Unified School District hired her in 2003.
While employed as a teacher, Solis was allegedly involved in a sexual relationship with a minor who was attending Sycamore Middle School. No other details about the alleged crime were released.
On October 10, 2023, the Gridley Police Department received information from a parent about a rumor of explicit photographs of Solis circulating among students. An investigation immediately started to determine the validity of the allegation.
Investigators from the Butte County District Attorney’s Office found evidence that explicit photographs of Solis were being circulated around by students. After a review of the case by the Butte County Superior Court Judge, a warrant was issued for the Sycamore Middle School teacher’s arrest.
At 10:32 a.m. on November 13, 2023, Gridley Police Department officers arrested Solis at her residence in Gridley. She was booked into the Butte County Jail in Oroville, Butte County
Solis was charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 16. She may face more charges as the investigation is still ongoing.
Bail for Solis was set at $15,000. She has yet to release a statement about the allegation against her.
