Scott Michael Davis, 47, is a band teacher at South Dade Senior High School in Homestead, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. He is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an underage boy, who was one of his band students.
In November 2022, the boy was hospitalized while he was in a mental crisis over a breakup. Davis came to the hospital to check on the boy and since then, the band teacher allowed the boy to confide in him and be there emotionally in the boy’s need.
In September 2023, Davis started a sexual relationship with the boy. They allegedly would touch and kiss each other in South Dade Senior High School’s band room.
On two separate occasions, Davis allegedly picked up the boy from the boy’s residence and take him to a location in Cutler Bay, Miami-Dade County. They allegedly performed oral sex on each other in the teacher’s car in Cutler Bay.
After receiving a Crime Stoppers tip about a potential inappropriate relationship between Davis and a student, the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department investigated the allegations. The band teacher reportedly gave a full confession.
After a thorough investigation, the Miami-Dade County Public Schools terminated Davis’s employment. He will no longer be allowed to work at any school in the district ever again.
On November 14, 2023, Davis was arrested. He was charged with committing offenses against students by authority figures, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child.
Bond for Davis was set at $16,000. He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, Miami-Dade County.
