Brent Michael Jones, 33, was employed by the Jackson County Schools in Jackson County, West Virginia, United States. He taught at Ravenswood High School in Ravenswood, Jackson County.
While employed as a Ravenswood High School teacher, Jones allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a student attending the school. The age of the student was not released.
On the evening of November 16, 2023, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report about the alleged relationship between Jones and the student. The agency investigated the allegation along with the Jackson County Schools and the Ravenswood Police Department.
On November 17, 2023, members of the Jackson County Bureau of Investigations looked into the alleged relationship between Jones and the Ravenswood High School student. The student told the investigators that sexual contact occurred between them and the teacher on two occasions.
In the afternoon, Jones was arrested at Ravenswood High School. He was charged with two counts of sexual conduct with a student.
Currently, Jones is being held at South Central Regional Jail in Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia on a $200,000 cash or surety bond. He is no longer an employee with Jackson County Schools.
