Emma Brewington, 21, of Millsboro, Sussex County, Delaware, United States works at Laurel High School in Laurel, Sussex County as a paraprofessional. She is accused of sending explicit photos to a student, 16, attending the school.
In September 2023, Brewington started communicating electronically with the student. One of the student’s parents found out about the inappropriate relationship and reported the paraprofessional to Laurel High School officials.
On October 16, 2023, the school reported the allegation against Brewington to Delaware State Police Troop 4, Criminal Investigations Unit. Detectives immediately started investigating and found on the student’s phone explicit photos sent by the paraprofessional.
On November 14, 2023, detectives obtained a warrant for Brewington’s arrest. On November 16, 2023, she turned herself in at Troop 4.
Brewington was charged with providing obscene material to a person under the age of 18. It is a felony.
The Millsboro woman was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 4 in Seaford, Sussex County. She was released on her on recognizance.
