2023 PFL World Championship
The PFL held the world championship of its 2023 season at The Anthem in in Southwest Waterfront, Washington, D.C. on November 24, 2023. The partnership between the league and DUDE Wipes started during the event and will continue in 2024.
There were 11 matches on the card including six title bouts. The main card had seven bouts and the preliminary card had four bouts.
One of the bouts on the preliminary card was an amateur lightweight bout between Biaggio and Joel Galarza Lopez, 28, of Richmond, California, USA. The latter made his PFL debut.

Michael Wachter served as the referee of the amateur lightweight contest between Biaggio and Lopez at the 2023 PFL World Championship. The referee stopped the fight after 1 minute and 24 seconds in the second round after Biaggio knocked out Lopez via punches.
The loss downgraded Lopez’s amateur MMA record to 3 wins and 1 loss. He previously competed in Cagezillia, Outlaw Fight League and Global Legion FC.
On the other hand, Biaggio now has 6 wins and 1 loss as an amateur MMA fighter. He had four wins in the PFL before fighting Lopez.
