Fighting out of Lima, Peru, “El Mudo” Jesus Pinedo, 27, is currently in Washington, D.C., United States. He has just earned his third Professional Fighters League victory and is now $1 million richer.
Born in Callao, Peru, Pinedo made his professional mixed martial arts debut on July 17, 2013 in Lima. On April 1, 2023, he made his PFL debut in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
On August 4, 2023, Pinedo fought “Bad Man” Bubba Jenkins, 35, of Huntington Beach, California, USA in the semifinal round of the 2023 PFL Feathertweight Tournament in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The Peruvian MMA fighter defeated his American opponent via technical knockout.
2023 PFL World Championship
The PFL held the world championship of its 2023 season at The Anthem in in Southwest Waterfront, Washington, D.C. on November 24, 2023. The event inaugurated the partnership between the league and DUDE Wipes, which will continue in 2024.
There were 11 matches on the card including six title bouts. The main card had seven bouts and the preliminary card had four bouts.
One of the title bouts was the 2023 PFL Featherweight Championship match between Pinedo and Gabriel Braga, 25, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Brazilian MMA fighter defeated “The Long Island Killer” Chris Wade, 36, of Long Island, New York, USA in the semifinal round on August 4, 2023.

Fernando Yamasaki served as the referee of the title bout between Pinedo and Braga at the 2023 PFL World Championship. The referee stopped the fight after 58 seconds in the third round after the fighter from Lima defeated his Brazilian opponent via technical knockout via punches.
The loss downgraded Braga’s professional MMA record to 12 wins and 1 loss. He made his professional MMA debut on July 7, 2018 and his PFL debut on March 3, 2023.
On the other hand, Pinedo now has 23 wins and 6 losses. He is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter.
A total of six countries were represented at the 2023 PFL World Championship, namely Brazil, Canada, Peru, Russia, Sweden and the U.S. Pinedo solely represented Peru while Braga was one of the three fighters from Brazil.
