Brazilian mixed martial artist “Problema” Renan Ferreira, 34, is currently in Washington, D.C., United States. Fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he has just earned his sixth Professional Fighters League victory and is now $1 million richer.
Born in Porangatu, Goiás, Brazil, Ferreira made his professional MMA debut on December 14, 2013 in Porangatu. On May 6, 2021, he made his PFL debut.
On August 18, 2023, Ferrera fought “The Crochet Boss” Maurice Greene, 37, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA in the semifinal round of the 2023 PFL Heavyweight Tournament in New York City, New York, USA. The Brazilian MMA fighter knocked out his American opponent via punches.
2023 PFL World Championship
The PFL held the world championship of its 2023 season at The Anthem in in Southwest Waterfront, Washington, D.C. on November 24, 2023. The event inaugurated the partnership between the league and DUDE Wipes, which will continue in 2024.
There were 11 matches on the card including six title bouts. The main card had seven bouts and the preliminary card had four bouts.
In the co-main event, Ferrera and “The Russian Bogatyr” Denis Goltsov, 33, of Saint Petersburg, Russia fought for the 2023 PFL Heavyweight Championship title. The Russian MMA fighter submitted Jordan Heiderman, 32, of Nebraska, USA in the semifinal round on August 18, 2023.

Mario Yamasaki served as the referee of the title bout between Ferreira and Goltsov at the 2023 PFL World Championship. The referee stopped the fight after 26 seconds in the second round after Brazilian MMA fighter knocked out his Russian opponent via punches.
The loss downgraded Goltsov’s professional MMA record to 32 wins and 8 losses. He made his professional MMA debut on October 19, 2013 and his PFL debut on July 5, 2018.
On the other hand, Magomedkerimov now has 34 wins and 6 losses. He was a 2019 PFL Heavyweight Championship semifinalist.
A total of six countries were represented at the 2023 PFL World Championship, namely Brazil, Canada, Peru, Russia, Sweden and the U.S. Ferreira was one of the three fighters from Brazil and Goltsov was one of the three fighters from Russia.
