Kevin Tai biography: 13 things about Mister Global Taiwan 2023

Kevin Davalos Wei Tai is a Brazilian-Taiwanese television host, model and beauty king based in Taipei, Taiwan. He worked as a licensed physical therapist in Brazil.

During Tai’s free time, he enjoys working out and playing the Chinese flute, cooking. He is proficient in seven languages to varying degrees including Portuguese, English, Spanish and Chinese. 

Born in Paraguay to a Taiwanese father and a Brazilian mother, Tai grew up in Brazil. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from the Faculdade de Medicina of the Universidade de São Paulo in São Paulo, Brazil.

Tai made the decision to move from Brazil to Taiwan due to the strong cultural heritage his Taiwanese grandparents instilled in him. Here are 13 more things about him:

1. In 2010, he graduated from high school in São Paulo, Brazil.
2. In 2011, he entered the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo and became a member of the Liga de Gestão em Saúde. In 2012, he was a Liga de Fisioterapia Cardiorrespiratória e em Terapia Intensiva coordinator and a Jornada Universitária da Saúde coordinator.
3. In 2013, he was a Liga de Fisioterapia Cardiorrespiratória e em Terapia Intensiva coordinator.
4. From 2014 to 2016, he participated in the research program Ciências sem Fronteiras. From 2014 to 2015, he attended Central China Normal University in Wuhan, Hubei, China. From 2015 to 2016, he attended the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in Beijing, China where he obtained his certification in traditional Chinese medicine.
5. He, Ingred Merllin Batista de Souza and Amelia Pasqual Marques authored “The Effectiveness of Tai Chi Chuan in Osteoarthritis of the Knee: A Systematic Review”, which was published in the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases in June 2019.

7. On April 25, 2021, he visited Penghu, Taiwan. On August 19, 2021, he was in Tainan, Taiwan. In October 2021, he walked the runway and made his Taipei Fashion Week debut. On December 3, 2021, he was in Chiayi, Taiwan.
8. On January 30, 2022, he visited Sun Moon Lake in Yuchi, Nantou County, Taiwan. In March 2022, he was featured as a model in a commercial for Gogoro in Taiwan.
9. On October 8, 2022, he visited Taroko National Park in Xiulin Township, Hualien County, Taiwan and on October 21, 2022, he traveled to Ayutthaya, Thailand. In November 2022, he visited Bangkok, Thailand and Singapore.
10. In February 2023, he traveled to Seoul, South Korea then to São Paulo.
11. On September 23, 2023, he competed against nine other Mister Friendship Taiwan 2023 finalists. He was runner-up to “Sky” Tian Yu.
12. On October 20, 2023, he was officially appointed Mister Global Taiwan 2023.
13. He was 27 years old when he represented Taiwan at Mister Global 2023 on November 23, 2023 and competed against 35 other candidates in Maha Sarakham, Thailand. He finished in the Top 5.
