Carlos de Leon of Guatemala has died. He was 35.
In June 2023, de Leon went missing. Since then, the Guatemalan man’s family and friends had not seen or heard from him.
In November 2023, the homicide unit of the Los Angeles Police Department received a tip that the Guatemalan man was buried at the property of Russell Robinson, 48, in North Hills, Los Angeles, California, United States. There are other residents in the property.
De Leon’s residence in the U.S. is still unknown. Whether or not Robinson knew each other has yet to be confirmed.
On November 21, 2023, LAPD officers carried out a search at Robinson’s residence in North Hills. They found a structure at the rear of the 1-acre property near the swimming pool and removed the concrete foundation under the structure.
After a careful excavation, the officers found de Leon’s remains. They arrested Robinson at another location.
While Robinson was linked to the property, the other residents at the property were not involved in the crime, according to the LAPD. The department has information about the motive for the murder of de Leon but has yet to reveal details.
Bail for Robinson was set at $2 million. He was booked for murder.
