Joshua James “Josh” Giddey is an Australian professional basketball player born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association in the United States.
Giddey’s sister Hannah Giddey, also a basketball player, played for Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma, USA. Their father Warrick Giddey was a National Basketball League player from 1987 to 2002.
In 2022, Warrick became the head coach for the Melbourne Tigers women’s team of NBL1 South. His wife Kim Giddey played in the Women’s National Basketball League.
Raised in Yarraville, Victoria, Josh went to St. Kevin’s College in Melbourne. He also attended the University of Canberra (UC) Senior Secondary College Lake Ginninderra in Belconnen, Canberra, Australia alongside his full-time training at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra.
