Alyssa Ann Zinger, 22, of Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida, United States is accused of posing as a homeschooled girl aged 14 and contacting a boy over Snapchat at the end of May 2023. The boy is 12 to 15 years old.
After communicating with the boy online, Zinger allegedly met him in person and engaged in a sexual relationship with him. The age of consent in Florida is 18.
In July 2023, Zinger and the boy were caught shoplifting from Nordstrom at International Plaza and Bay Street in Tampa while she was a Tampa Publix employee. She gave a Tampa Police Department officer her real name but said she was born in 2009.
The officer could not find information on Zinger with the birthdate she provided but found her real birthdate revealing she was not a minor. She explained that she had a half-sister of the same name.
When Zinger and the boy broke up in September 2023, he believed she was 14 years old. In October 2023, the Tampa Police Department was alerted to the relationship.
Employers at a Tampa Publix where Zinger worked confirmed she was not a minor. Tampa Police Department officials found out that she engaged in sexual activity with the boy around 30 times when they interviewed him.
Zinger allegedly told the boy that in the past, she engaged in sexual activity with other boys between the ages of 13 and 15. She also sent explicit photos and videos to other children at one of the Hillsborough County Schools in Tampa, according to Tampa Police Department officials.
On November 24, 2023, Tampa Police Department officers arrested Zinger. She was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery and five counts of lewd or lascivious molestation on a victim who is between 12 and 15 years old.
On the same day, Zinger posted a $7,500 bond on each second-degree felony charge and was released. She waived her right to an arraignment and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
