Carl Deveier Wemple, 45, of New Palestine, Sugar Creek Township, Hancock County, Indiana, United States works in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. He previously lived in Indianapolis and Greenfield, Hancock County.
Currently, Wemple serves as a firefighter with the Indianapolis Fire Department. He joined the department in 2006.
Wemple’s father Randy Deveier Wemple was born in Indianapolis. On February 25, 2013, Randy died at age 59.
From November 28-30, 2023, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a child solicitation sting in Greenwood, Johnson County with the help of the U.S. Secret Service and the police departments of Bargersville, Johnson County; Franklin, Johnson County and Greenfield, Hancock County, Indiana. A total of 21 men were arrested.
On November 29, 2023, seven men were arrested on East Countyline Road in Greenwood where they thought they would meet a child aged 14 or 15. One of them was Carl.
After the arrest, the Indianapolis Fire Department indefinitely suspended Carl without pay. He was charged with child solicitation..
All of the 21 arrestees were booked into the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Jail in Franklin. One of them is from West Virginia, USA while the other 20 are all Indiana residents.
