One person was fatally shot on Milam Road in Batesville, Panola County, Mississippi, United States at around 4:00 a.m. on November 11, 2023. The name of the homicide victim was not released.
Anthony “A.J.” Flowers was identified as the suspect. Panola County Sheriff’s Office investigators obtained sufficient information to secure an arrest warrant for him.
On November 30, 2023, Bates Police Department officers arrested Flowers in connection with the homicide. The department has yet to confirm whether or not he and the victim knew each other.
Flowers’ residence and age were not revealed. One of the five people arrested and charged in connection with a shooting on Fisher Street in Batesville on September 28, 2020 is Anthony Flowers Jr., then 21, of Sardis, Panola County.
According to the Batesville Police Department, the victims were an adult female and a juvenile male. They were in stable condition after being treated at Regional One Health Medical Center in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, USA.
The other four suspects were Kimberly Ellis, then 40, Jatria Lee, then 30, and Shanique Lee, then 29. They are all Sardis residents.
On September 30, 2020, the five arrestees made an initial appearance in court. They were each charged with aggravated assault and held on a $1500,000 bond.
