Zeke Gregory Best‘s mother Kali Jean Randall of Victor, Teton County, Idaho, United States has died. She was 38.
Randall was the wife of Jeremy Albert Best, 48, of Victor. She gave birth to Zeke in February 2023.
At around 11:30 a.m. on November 30, 2023, Jeremy walked through the Swan Valley General Store in Swan Valley, Bonneville County, Idaho. He was naked.
Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the store. Emergency medical service officers on scene evaluated Jeremy and transported him to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Bonneville Count by ambulance.
One of the deputies turned over Jeremy to hospital staff for further medical and mental health concerns. Later that day, he was released from the hospital.
At around 11:39 p.m., Jeremy allegedly killed Randall, kidnapped Zeke and drove a black 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe sport utility vehicle. She was pregnant when she was killed.
Just before 4:00 a.m. on December 1, 2023, an Amber Alert was issued for Zeke.
At around 9:15 a.m. on December 2, 2023, a group of hunters found Zeke on Kepps Crossing Road near the Dan Creek Road east of Idaho Falls. The baby was dead.
The hunters also saw Jeremy in a sleeping bag on the side of the road. He was naked.
Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area and found Jeremy’s black Chevy SUV. After a medical clearance, Jeremy was booked into the Bonneville County Jail in Idaho Falls where he will remain until his arraignment.
