Bernardo Silvestre Pantaleon Genis of Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona, United States has died. He was 30.
Pantaleon was part of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) community. He was allegedly murdered by Leonardo Santiago, 21, Manuel Carrasco Calderon, 21, and Jose Rodriguez, 20.
According to Phoenix Police Department, Pantaleon had suffered from significant bodily trauma. He had a gunshot wound.
Just before 12:30 p.m. on November 26, 2023, Pantaleon was found dead on a hiking trail at Mountain View Park in Phoenix. He was naked and his belongings were gone.
On December 2, 2023, Santiago, Calderon and Rodriguez were arrested. They all confessed to murdering Pantaleon, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Santiago and Calderon were each charged with assisting a criminal street gang, committing crimes against the dead and three counts of first-degree premeditated murder. Rodriguez was charged with assisting a criminal street gang and two counts of first-degree premeditated murder.
