Brent Lindsey is no longer the chief of the police department of Hartford, Ohio County, Kentucky, United States. The city is home to around 2,600 residents.

Born in Ohio County, Lindsey became a law enforcement officer in 2008. While employed by the police department of Beaver Dam, Ohio County, he was accused of having an inappropriate relationship.

In 2013, Lindsey was terminated from the Beaver Dam Police Department. On July 29, 2021, he was sworn in as the Hartford Police Department chief.

On October 27, 2023, officials of the city of Hartford received information about an ongoing criminal investigation that involved Lindsey. The investigation was conducted by the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, which covers 11 counties in the western part of Kentucky.

While the investigation was ongoing, the city officials placed Lindsey on administrative leave. On November 16, 2023, he resigned from his position as the Hartford Police Department chief.

On December 5, 2023, Lindsey was indicted at the Ohio County Courthouse in Hartford. He was charged with voyeurism, official misconduct, trafficking in a controlled substance, three counts of tampering with physical evidence and 10 counts of sexual abuse.

The Kentucky State Police arrested Lindsey at the courthouse. He posted bond and was released. At 10:00 a.m. on January 16, 2024, he will be back in court.
