Herman Clarence Rushing Jr., 67, of Portersville, Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States is a pastor at By His Grace Christian Ministries in Butler, Butler County. He is currently in jail.
In June 2011, Rushing became a By His Grace Christian Ministries pastor. His wife is also a pastor at the congregation.
From December 2020 to September 2023, Rushing allegedly inappropriately touched two girls, now aged 13 and 16, on numerous occasions. The two girls are sisters from Prospect, Butler County.
On October 28, 2023, the girls’ parents reported to the Pennsylvania Police Department the abuses the girls suffered allegedly in the hands of Rushing. He is also accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual acts with an adult female By His Grace Christian Ministries member.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, Rushing moved to Butler and sought help for addiction at the veterans affair center there. Recently, he became a social worker in Butler.
On November 3, 2023, the younger girl Rushing allegedly abused went through a forensic interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Butler County in Butler. According to her, the assaults would take place monthly in several locations including his residence.
On December 6, 2023, Rushing was arrested and booked into the Butler County Prison in Butler. He is facing several charges including indecent assault, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children.
Bail for Rushing was set at $75,000. On December 14, 2023, he will attend his preliminary hearing.
