Training at Straight Blast Gym Ireland in Dublin, Ireland, Nathan Kelly, 26, was one of the winners at “PFL Europe 4”. It was the Irish mixed martial artist’s fourth victory in the Professional Fighters League.
Featuring 11 professional MMA bouts and one amateur MMA match, “PFL Europe 4” was held at the 3Arena in Dublin on December 8, 2023. In the main event, Kelly fought Dimitry Solimeis, 29, of Nice, France in the featherweight division.
Kelly is 5’8″ tall and he is a jiu-jitsu specialist. Solimeis is 6’0″ tall and he is striking specialist.
Rich Mitchell served as the referee of the featherweight bout between Kelly and Solimeis. The referee stopped the fight after 4 minutes and 47 seconds in the first round when the Irish MMA fighter submitted his French opponent via rear-naked choke.
Losing to Kelly downgraded Solimeis’s professional MMA record to 6 wins and 4 losses. The French MMA fighter made his PFL debut at “PFL Europe 4”.
Before “PFL Europe 4”, Kelly had three fights in the PFL, which he all won. He now has 8 wins and 2 losses.
On July 22, 2017, Kelly made his professional MMA debut in a Cage Legacy Fighting Championship event in Cork, Ireland. On February 25, 2022, he made his debut in Bellator MMA, which was officially acquired by the PFL on November 20, 2023.
When Kelly made his PFL debut on August 13, 2022, he submitted Porthcawl, Wales’ Ben Ellis via rear-naked choke. In the same promotion, the SGB Ireland submitted Nashville, Tennessee, United States’ Zachary Hicks via arm-triangle choke on March 3, 2023 and defeated New York City, New York, USA’s Damion Nelson via unanimous decision on August 18, 2023.
