Shintell Latoya Ford, 39, of Miami Gardens, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States works as a U.S. Postal Service clerk in Little Havana, Miami, Miami-Dade County. Aside from Miami Gardens, she has lived in other parts of Florida including Miami, Pembroke Pines, Opa Locka and Jacksonville.

While at work at the USPS station in Little Havana on December 9, 2023, Ford was allegedly being rude to a female customer who did not speak English. The clerk allegedly made racist remarks to the customer, whose name was not released.

An eyewitness named Miguel Bravo requested to speak to a manager and confronted Ford. He used his cellphone to record the incident.

While Bravo was recording Ford, she allegedly snatched his cellphone away and caused a red bruise on his left hand. She allegedly tried to break the phone.

After the attack, Ford gave the phone to another USPS employee, who gave it back to Bravo. Police were called and Ford was arrested.

After posting a $5,000 bond, Ford was released from the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department in Miami. She was charged with robbery by sudden snatching.

The USPS has yet to release a statement about Ford’s arrest. Whether or not she was fired has yet to be confirmed.
