Benjamin H. Reese is an American man from Georgia, United States. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and a teacher.

On October 7, 2023, an armed conflict between Israel and Hamas-led Palestinian militant groups started in and around the Gaza Strip. On December 7, 2023, while employed as a seventh-grade social studies teacher at Warner Robins Middle School in Warner Robins, Georgia, Reese was approached by a female student, who said she found the Israeli flag in his classroom offensive “due to Israelis killing Palestinians.” 

Reese explained he was Jewish and had family members who still lived in Israel. When the conversation escalated into a debate, he allegedly yelled at the student, “You motherf—–g piece of s–t!”

“I’ll kick your a–,” Reese allegedly continued. “I should cut your motherf—–g head off.”

  1. From September 1991 to September 1997, he was a U.S. Navy fire controlman in Norfolk, Virginia, USA.
  2. From 2006 to 2012, he attended Augusta University in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia where he earned is bachelor’s degree in middle grades education.
  3. After graduating from August University in 2012, he moved to Warner Robins.
  4. In 2008, he honorably left the U.S. Navy.
  5. From August 2013 to December 2013, he was an intern at John M. Tutt Middle School in Augusta.
  6. In December 2013, he became a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certified teacher.
  7. In July 2014, he joined Warner Robins Middle School as a math teacher. He later became a seventh-grade social studies teacher at the school.
  8. On December 7, 2023, he allegedly threatened to behead a female student after she made a comment about his Israeli flag.
  9. On December 8, 2023, he was arrested. A judge set his bond at $2,500 for a terroristic threat charge and $5,000 for a charge of cruelty to children.
  10. He was 51 years old when he was arrested on December 8, 2023. He was released after posting bond.
