Adriana Mariel Rullan, 27, of Laredo, Webb County, Texas, United States is a former employee of the United Independent School District in Laredo. She was a teacher at Antonio Gonzalez Middle School in Laredo.
As a teacher, Rullan received an annual salary of $46,125 in 2021. It increased to $54,200 in 2022.
While employed as an Antonio Gonzalez Middle School teacher, Rullan allegedly had an improper relationship with a student. On August 18, 2023, the teacher allegedly sexually abused the student.
Once the United Independent School District was made aware of the allegations, Rullan was placed on leave. On December 20, 2023, the school district’s police department arrested her.
Rullan was charged with sex abuse of child continuous: victim under 14, improper relationship between educator/student and indecency with child sexual contact. The first charge had a $75,000 bond and the other two charges had a $50,000 bond each for a total bond of $175,000.
After the arrest, the school district fired Rullan. She was booked into the Webb County Jail in Laredo and was released on the same day.
In October 2023, the Webb County Jail passed the inspection conducted by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards in an unannounced visit. In the same month, male inmates from the jail participated in a cleanup of Rio Bravo, Webb County.
