Drita Ziri, 23, of Fushë-Krujë, Durrës County, Albania is Miss Earth 2023. She is a television host and a model.
Since 2020, Ziri has been modeling professionally. On July 3, 2022, she competed against 26 other Miss Shqipëria 2022 candidates at Porto Palermos in Himare, Vlorë County, Albania and won the title.
On October 15, 2022, Ziri represented Albania at The Miss Globe 2022 and competed against 49 other candidates at the Opera and Ballet Theater in Tirana. She was second runner-up to Anabel Payano of the Dominican Republic.
On July 9, 2023, Ziri crowned her successor Miss Shqipëria 2023 Sonia Sallaku at Sheshi Italia in Tirana. On August 11, 2023, Ziri was officially appointed Miss Earth Albania 2023.
Hosted by James Deakin and Huỳnh Thị Thuỳ Dung, the Miss Earth 2023 coronation night was held at Vạn Phúc City in Hiệp Bình Phước, Thủ Đức, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on December 22, 2023. Including Ziri, a total of 85 women competed for the title.
The Top 4 candidates were given the same question. Deakin asked, “An official at a recent climate conference was quoted as saying there is no science behind coals for the phaseout of fossil fuels. Do you agree with this? Why or why not?”
“I do believe that a lot is happening to our earth right now, regarding also this problem, it’s because of people, it’s because of unawareness, it’s because of not thinking that they do have the impact to do the undoing, to actually make progress in this world,” Ziri answered. “I believe that if we can plant the seed of love, we’re going to carry all the other values we need to have, persistence, consistency, determination, and actually passion for caring for our Earth.”
“I have passion about our advocacy,” the Albanian beauty queen continued. “That’s why I am here in front of you today.”
Yllana Aduana, 25, of the Philippines finished second and was crowned Miss Earth-Air 2023. Finishing third and fourth, respectively, were Miss Earth-Water 2023 Đỗ Thị Lan Anh, 26, of Vietnam and Miss Earth-Fire 2023 Cora Bliault, 19, of Thailand.
Shontelle, Jaykii, Mono and Sara Luu performed during the event. There were 10 members in the panel of judges including Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong and TNA Entertainment director Truong Ngoc Anh.
Miss Earth 2023 was organized by TNA Entertainment. It was the 23rd edition of the international beauty pageant that advocates for environmental awareness, conservation and social responsibility.
Ziri is the first ever Miss Earth from Albania. Right before her coronation, Anh announced that Miss Earth 2024 will be held in Vietnam again.
