Lawrence Hickman, 52, of Bella Vista, Benton County, Arkansas, United States was recently arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail in Bentonville, Benton County. He is being held on a $1 million bond.

Aside from Bella Vista, Hickman has lived in other parts of Arkansas including Springdale and Viola. He has also lived in different parts of Oregon, USA including Medford and Eagle Point.

On December 9, 2023, Laurel Wooten, 56, of Bella Vista called the Bella Vista Police Department and reported that Hickman was harassing her. When they arrived at his residence, they met with her while he was nowhere to be found.

Wooten told the officers there were pipe bombs in a plastic bag in the residence. There was a bottle of chloroform in a dresser drawer there, as well, she added.

The officers found six bombs were live so neighbors were evacuated from there residences. One of the neighbors told the officers Hickman wanted to kayak to the Philippines were his wife was.

According to the neighbor, Hickman planned to travel to Alaska, USA via the Bering Sea and down to the Philippines. The bombs were for sharks and pirates, the neighbor added.

On December 13, 2023, Hickman was apprehended at a pier with two inflatable kayaks in Pacific County, Washington while he was trying to flee the U.S. to avoid an upcoming trial in Texas, USA. He was in possession of a laptop, a universal serial bus drive, a secure digital card, a pistol, a compound bow, a bolt-action rifle, an AR-style rifle, ammunition and black powder.

On January 8, 2023, Hickman will be arraigned. He is facing six counts of criminal possession of explosive material or destructive device.
