On October 26, 2011, Bellator MMA was acquired by Viacom. On December 4, 2019, Viacom and CBS Corporation merged and formed ViacomCBS, which was renamed Paramount Global on February 15, 2022.
On November 17, 2023, “Bellator 301” was held at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois, USA, making it the final Bellator MMA event before the promotion was acquired by the Professional Fighters League. On November 20, 2023, the PFL completed the acquisition of Bellator MMA from Paramount Global.
