Miss World Bolivia 2021 Alondra Mercado Campos, 22, is a resident of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. She is originally from Trinidad, Beni, Bolivia. She went to Colegio La Salle in Sta. Cruz.
On November 14, 2020, Mercado represented Beni at Miss Bolivia 2020 and competed against 20 other candidates in Sta. Cruz. She ranked second and was crowned Miss Bolivia Mundo 2020.
In December 2021, Mercado represented Bolivia at Miss World 2021 and competed against 96 other candidates in Puerto Rico. She was not selected as one of the 40 quarterfinalists who competed on March 16, 2022.
On February 16, 2023, Mercado represented Bolivia at Miss Charm 2023 and competed against 37 other candidates at the Hoa Binh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She was unplaced.
Mercado and her boyfriend Andres Vasquez shared an upscale condominium in El Dorado, Trinidad. She was allegedly involved in a international drug trafficking ring under his lead.
On November 6, 2023, Mercado visited Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. On November 20, 2023, she was with Vasquez.
On November 24, 2023, the Fuerza Especial de Lucha Contra el Narcotráfico (FELCN) raided Mercado and Vasquez’s condominium to apprehend him. However, the duo managed to escape.
More than 100 war munitions were seized from the condominium along with incriminating documentation, a $100,000 check and luxury vehicles were also found. Also seized was a BMW vehicle associated with Mercado, which tested positive for cocaine
Vasquez is still on the run. He is wanted for questioning on drug trafficking.
Meanwhile, Mercado has been arrested. A mobile phone seized from her contained photos and videos showing her and Vasquez at numerous parties with the illegal weapons seized by police.
Mercado was booked into the women’s prison in Trinidad on suspicion of gun trafficking. While waiting for her first court appearance, she will be held there or 30 days in pre-trial detention.
