Zackary K. Jones, 34, of Kings Mountain, Lincoln County, Kentucky, United States is accused of luring a minor across state lines. He has been arrested.
Jones allegedly had been in communication with a girl, 16, of Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA through Facebook. He allegedly claimed he was 19.
According to the girl, Jones picked her up from her residence in Fayetteville and brought her to his residence in Kings Mountain. He allegedly told her to tell his family she was 18 and kept her behind a trapped door in his residence for two to three weeks.
On December 8, 2023, the girl was reported missing to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. While in Jones’ residence in Kings Mountain, he allegedly told her multiple times that he would take a pistol and kill her.
On December 25, 2023, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call from Jones’ mother. She reported that he had an altercation with who she referred to as his girlfriend at their residence in Kings Mountain.
When deputies arrived at the residence, they found Jones and his mother. He told them there were no other people there.
The deputies looked around the residence and found cocaine and a weapon. Jones was arrested and placed in a cruiser after he tried to dispose of the drugs in a wood stove found in his bedroom.
Later, deputies went back to the residence to look for the girlfriend Jones had been in the reported altercation with. They found a trap door hidden under a rug in his bedroom and the missing Fayetteville girl who appeared very high on drugs.
After being arrested, Jones admitted to doing drugs with the girl and having a sexual relationship with her. He is facing several charges in North Carolina including resisting arrest, assault, strangulation, unlawful transaction with a minor, unlawful transaction with a minor, possession of a controlled substance, using an electronic device to entice and lure a minor across state lines, 10 counts of third-degree sodomy and 10 counts of third-degree rape.
