Mohammed Izzeddin, 22, of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States has been arrested. He was identified as one of the two men who forced their way into a business in Borough Park, Brooklyn at around 6:00 p.m. on December 23, 2023.
At the time, a woman, 49, was with a couple of female coworkers were inside the building. The woman speaks Chinese and does not speak English.
The two burglars entered via an outer door of the business. Izzeddin allegedly raped the woman while the other burglar told her coworkers to stay silent at knifepoint.
Izzeddin and the other burglar left after allegedly robbing the women of $300. The woman Izzeddin allegedly raped was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in Boro Park in stable condition.
On December 28, 2023, Izzeddin was arrested by New York City Police Department officers. He was charged with robbery, rape, robbery and unlawful imprisonment.
Izzeddin denied raping the Boro Bark woman. He claimed that she was a sex worker, the New York Daily News quoted him as saying.
The other burglar has yet to arrested. The NYPD has yet to release his name.
