Karrem Nasr is a United States citizen of Egyptian descent. His family from Alexandria, Egypt.

Nasr is a supporter of al Shabaab, a designated foreign terrorist organization that has attacked Americans and U.S. allies, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In November 2023, Nasr started communicating with who he thought was a facilitator for terrorist organizations but was actually an FBI confidential source.

Kennedy Airport in Queens, New York City, New York, USA from Nairobi on January 18, 2024.
  11. On December 14, 2023, he flew from Egypt to Kenya. Later that day, he was arrested in Nairobi and U.S. Magistrate Judge Ona T. Wang signed a criminal complaint filed against him by an FBI agent.

  13. On December 29, 2023, he appeared in federal court in Manhattan, New York City before U.S. Magistrate Judge Barbara Moses. He was charged with attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.
