World Wrestling Entertainment is based in Stamford, Connecticut, United States. Founded in 1953 as the Capitol Wrestling Corporation, it was renamed the World Wide Wrestling Federation in 1963, the World Wrestling Federation in 1979, World Wrestling Entertainment in 2002 and WWE in 2011.
On June 17, 2022, Vince McMahon stepped down as the chairman and chief executive officer of WWE and on July 22, 2022, he officially retired. His daughter Stephanie McMahon became the chairwoman and she and Nick Khan were named co-CEOs.
