Rakesh “Rick” Kamal, 57, of Dover, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States and his wife Teena Kamal, 54, are of Indian descent. They have one daughter named Arianna Kamal, 18.
On June 9, 2023, Arianna graduated from Milton Academy in Milton, Norfolk County. On September 11, 2023, she entered Middlebury College in Middlebury, Addison County, Vermont, USA to pursue a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience.
Teena graduated magna cum laude from Delhi University in New Delhi, India and she also attended Harvard University in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. She was on the board of directors for the American Red Cross of Massachusetts.
Founded by Teena, EduNova was launched in Massachusetts in 2016. Rick served as the chief operating officer of the education systems company.
In 2019, Rick and Teena bought a 19,000-square-foot property in Dover for $4 million. It was a 27-room mansion.
In December 2021, EduNova was dissolved. In 2022, Rick and Teena’s mansion in Dover went into foreclosure and was sold to Wilsondale Associates LLC for $3 million.
In September 2022, Teena filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy and listed between $1 million and $10 million in debt. In October 2022, the case was dismissed two months because of insufficient documentation.
Rick, Teena and Arianna were the only people living in their mansion in Dover. At around 7:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023, a male relative stopped by to check on the family members after not hearing from them in a couple of days.
The relative found Rick, Teena and Arianna dead inside the mansion. A gun was found near Rick’s body.
There was no forced entry at the residence. Authorities have yet to confirm how Rick, Teena and Arianna died.
