Watson Morgan, 49, of New City, Clarkstown, Rockland County, New York, United States and his wife Ornela Morgan, 43, had two sons together. The children were born in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
In 2000, Watson joined the New York City Police Department. In 2007, he joined the police department of Bronxville, Westchester County, New York.
In 2014, Watson was assigned to the Bronxville Police Department‘s detective division. In 2016, he was promoted to sergeant.
Also in 2016, Watson and Ornela bought their house in New York City. He was expected to retire in 2024.
Ornela was a teacher in a public school in New York City. Her older son went to Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack, Clarkstown while her younger son went to Laurel Plains Elementary School in New City.
On December 30, 2023, Watson did not show up for his shift. Just after midnight, Clarkstown Police Department officers went to his residence in New City for a welfare check and found him, Ornela and their two sons dead inside the residence.
The officers found a handgun at the scene. They believe Watson fatally shot himself before fatally shooting his wife and their two children.
