Dalton Coleman of O’Fallon, St. Charles County, Missouri, United States has died. He was 23.

On the afternoon of January 8, 2024, Coleman was in a residence in St. Charles County with Jackson L. Pierce, 18, of St. Peters, St. Charles County, another adult and a juvenile. In the evening, Coleman, Pierce and the juvenile were left their after the fourth individual left.

Later that evening, the person who left received a call from Pierce claiming that Coleman was asking for unknown belongings and exhibiting erratic behavior. The receiver of the call tried to calm down both Pierce and Coleman.

A few minutes later, Pierce called the same person and allegedly confessed to fatally shooting Coleman. The victim had 15 gunshot wounds to his face, abdomen and hand.

The St. Peters Police Department was contacted and a special weapons and tactics unit responded to the residence where Coleman was shot. They arrested Pierce and the juvenile he was with.

A white plastic garbage bag was secured around Coleman’s head. His body was placed inside of an air mattress, which was tightly tied, wrapped with a piece of an electrical cord and placed inside a bedroom closet.

Bond for Pierce was set at $1 million. Charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with physical evidence, he will attend his bond hearing on January 17, 2024.

When interviewed by police officers, Pierce admitted that he and the juvenile used towels and dish soap to clean up the crime scene. The two are still in custody.
