Marian Hudak, 52, of Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, United States has been convicted on federal hate crime charges. He is accused of terrorizing minorities in Cabarrus County.

On November 27, 2021, Hudak attacked a male neighbor, who is Hispanic, outside the neighbor’s residence. The former shouted racially charged insults at the latter.

After being punched and tackled by Hudak, the Hispanic man suffered bodily injury. Before and after the attack, Hudak allegedly frequently made anti-Hispanic comments.

On October 13, 2022, Hudak was driving his black Dodge Ram in Concord when he encountered a black man, who was also driving. Hudak’s car was decorated with a Confederate flag.

Hudak allegedly shouted racial slurs at the black man. After swerving into the black man’s lane, Hudak allegedly got out of his car and repeatedly punched the driver’s side window of the black man.

When the black man fled, he was chased to his home by Hudak. Aside from shouting racial slurs, Hudak also threatened to shoot and kill the black man.

On June 26, 2023, Hudak was charged with willfully injuring, intimidating or interfering with the black man because of the victim’s race and color and because the victim was using a public facility. On January 11, 2024, a jury in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina convicted Hudak for committing a hate crime against the two victims on separate occasions.
