William “Lil Bill” Eskridge III of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States died on October 9, 2023 at age 37. That day, he was shot 31 times allegedly by his son D’Juan Eskridge, then 18, during an altercation in Milwaukee.
D’Juan lived in his paternal grandmother’s house. When she kicked him out of the house, he allegedly became upset and threatened to get violent with her so his father stepped in.
Surveillance footage shows the altercation between William and D’Juan and the shooting. It also shows the teenager fleeing the scene after shooting his father.
The first Milwaukee Police Department officer at the scene found 15 bullet casings near William. All of the casings had been fired from the same gun, according to a preliminary forensic review.
A warrant was issued for D’Juan’s arrest. He was charged with first-degree reckless homicide.
On January 15, 2024, D’Juan was arrested. On January 17, 2024, he will make his initial court appearance.
