Kenneth “Kenny” Battersby of Skegness, Lincolnshire, East Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England, United Kingdom and his son Bronson Battersby have died. Kenneth was 60 and Bronson was 2.

Kenny and Bronson lived in a basement apartment near the seafront in Skegness with their dog Skylar. The property is owned by Maria Clifton Plaice.

On December 27, 2023, a female social worker had contact with Kenny with a home visit then arranged for January 2, 2024. When she went back as scheduled, there was no response to the knock at the door.

The social worker could not locate Bronson so she talked to her manager and contacted police. On January 4, 2024, she went back to his apartment and there was still no response.

“One of the tenants living above Kenny reported to us at the weekend that she heard Bronson crying out for his father early on New Year’s Day,” Plaice told Daily Mail. “She said she heard a little boy repeatedly say “daddy” as if he was trying to wake him up. This was around 4:00 a.m.”

On January 9, 2024, Plaice let social services into her property in Skegness. Kenny and Bronson were found dead.

Authorities believe Kenny died from a heart attack and days later, Bronson died from starvation and dehydration.
