Ram N. Gazab, 29, of New York, United States was arraigned in U.S. District Court in Seattle, Washington, USA. He pleaded not guilty to abusive sexual contact.

On December 26, 2023, Gazab was on a flight from Fresno, California, USA to Seattle. Around 20 minutes before landing, he allegedly seated himself in an empty seat next to a boy, 14.

Gazab allegedly placed his hand on the boy’s thigh so the boy moved his body away from the New York man and told him to stop. Gazab allegedly told the boy that he had been sleeping. 

When the boy the tried to leave the row after the plane landed, his buttocks were touched allegedly by Gazab. The boy reported the alleged crimes to the flight crew.

Law enforcement officers responded to the plane and took Gazab into custody. On January 10, 2024, he was indicted and charged with abusive sexual contact.

On March 11, 2024, Gazab will appear in court before U.S. District Judge Tana Lin for his trial.  

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the case. Assistant U.S. attorney Celia A. Lee is prosecuting it.
