John Allen Gaither of Gulfport, Harrison County, Mississippi, United States has died. He was 42.

Aside from Mississippi, Gaither lived in other U.S. states including California, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Utah. In particular, he lived in Layton, Utah, in West Palm Beach, Florida, in Lumberton, North Carolina and in Union, South Carolina.

In California, Gaither lived in Lake Elsinore, Menifee and Sun City. In Maryland, he lived in Langley Park and Silver Spring.

Jerri King Gaither

Gaither is the son of Jerri King Gaither, 66, of Gulfport, who is also known as Jerri A. Roby, Jerri Lynn Isreal, Jerry King Israel and Jerri King Bogart. She also previously lived in West Palm Beach, Union, Silver Spring and Langley Park.

Jerri has a former husband from Los Angeles, California, USA and she once dated Salah Avner Levy, 68, of Westfield, New Jersey, USA. Originally from Israel, Levy competed as a professional tennis player before he became a poker player.

In July 1993, Jerri fatally shot Christina P. Racey, 44, in Boca Raton, Florida and drove around with the victim’s body in the trunk before dumping it in Indian River County, Florida. The victim’s body was found in the trunk of her car during a standoff with police in Okeechobee County, Florida in which she threatened to kill herself.

According to Jerri, Levy was angry because her appearance was being ruined by Percodan, which Racey was supplying her. Jerri told police that she was waiting for his instructions when she was caught driving around with Racey’s body.

Levy was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, which was ultimately dropped for lack of evidence. Jerri was released after posting a $100,000 bail.

In November 1994, Jerri failed to appear at a hearing. On June 5, 1995, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper pulled her vehicle over near Orlando, Florida and arrested her.

Eventually, Jerri pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. In 2003, she was released from prison.

In 2016, Jerri pleaded guilty to attempted trafficking illegal drugs. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

The last known contact with John was on December 10, 2023. Whether or not his father and Jerri were married has yet to be confirmed.

On December 22, 2023, Gulport Police Department officers responded to Jerri’s residence in Gulfport in reference to a welfare concern about a possible missing person. On December 27, 2023, they conducted several follow-ups and started noticing discrepancies in statements she provided them.

On January 18, 2024, detectives and crime scene technicians from the department conducted a search of the residence and found John dead inside a wooden box hidden behind a false wall. That day, Jerri took pills and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

On January 20, 2024, Jerri was arrested and booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in Gulfport. She was charged with first-degree murder.
