Xavier Noe Altamirano, 20, of Las Cruces, Doña Ana County, New Mexico, United States is in jail. Las Cruces Police Department officers arrested him on January 23, 2024 at the 1400 block of East Boutz Road in Las Cruces.
Noe was charged with second-degree murder charge and shooting at a house, dwelling or vehicle. He was booked into the Doña Ana County Jail in Las Cruces.
The Las Cruces Police Department has yet to release details about Noe’s alleged crimes. When and where the crimes took place are still unknown.
In other news, a suspicious package was discovered at the Adult Probation and Parole Office on West Picacho Avenue in Las Cruces at around 8:40 a.m. on January 22, 2024. Because of this, the Las Cruces Police Department closed a portion of the avenue between 17th Street to Motel Boulevard.
Bomb squad personnel from the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area. At around 11:40 a.m., the package was determined to be an empty box and West Picacho Avenue was reopened for traffic.
On the same day, a suspected explosive device was sent to to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Law enforcement isolated and detonated the device without injury.
