The Miss Universe Organization is now co-owned by JKN Global Group and Legacy Holding, which have been merged as a privately held company called JKN Legacy. The organization is still a private corporation based in the United States. 

Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip, 44, owns JKN Global Group, which is based in Samut Prakan, Thailand. Raul Rocha Cantú is the chief executive officer and the board president of Legacy Holdings, which is based in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, Mexico.

New members have also joined the leadership team of the Miss Universe Organization. Among them are vice president for global partnerships Olivia Quido-Co, vice president of international relations Mario Bucaro, vice president of finance Carlos Martinez, vice president of strategic projects Jose Castillo and vice president of legal Mauricio Rocha.

The organization’s corporate headquarters will be in Mexico City, Mexico while its in-house content and production will come from Thailand. Reigning Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios, 23, will still be based in New York City, New York USA, where the organization’s digital, social media, and communications will come from.

The new changes do not affect the new rules of Miss Universe, including the removal of the age limit of candidates. In terms of age requirement, candidates only have to be at least 18 years old.

Representing Nicaragua, Palacios won the 72nd edition of Miss Universe at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador on November 18, 2023. At the of the coronation ceremony, Rocha announced that Miss Universe 2024 will be held in Mexico.

It will be the fifth time Mexico is hosting Miss Universe. The title was won in the country by Margaret Gardiner of South Africa in 1978, Angela Visser of the Netherlands in 1989, Dayanara Torres of Puerto Rico in 1993 and Riyo Mori of Japan in 2007.
