Alejandro Ingelmo is a fourth-generation shoemaker who attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, United States and the Parsons School of Design in New York City, New York, USA. His grandfather was a maverick shoe cobbler in Salamanca, Spain.
In March 2009, Ingelmo became an associate member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. He was nominated for the Swarovski Award for Accessory Design in 2009 and 2011.
