Verónica Rincón de Sancler of Pembroke Pines, Broward County, Florida, United States has died. She was 43.
Sancler and her husband Jorge Jose Sancler, 62, are Venezuelans. They lived with their five children in a house they were renting in the Grand Palms residential community in Pembroke Pines.
On the morning of February 8, 2024, Jorge, Veronica and their five children were all at home. At around 6:00 a.m., he allegedly assaulted an underage person and stabbed his wife at their residence.
While committing the crime, Jorge was also injured. He barricaded inside of the garage of the residence until special weapons and tactics team members were able to safely take him into custody.
Pembroke Pines Fire-Rescue transported Veronica to a hospital where she died. Jorge was also transported to a hospital.
According to the Pembroke Pines Police Department, Jorge was charged with second-degree murder charge and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a minor. Why he stabbed Veronica is still unclear.
