In Limestone County, Alabama, United States, an undercover child sex trafficking operation was recently conducted by the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, the Covenant Rescue Group and the police department of Athens, Limestone County. The goal was to identify and arrest predators seeking children for sexual acts.
Investigators spent several months to plan the operation. They acted as decoys in online chat rooms and caught predators who agreed on cash payments to engage in sexual acts with children.
The predators traveled to Limestone County to engage in unlawful sex acts. They are from different parts of Alabama including Albertville, Athens, Blountsville, Hazel Green, Huntsville and Madison.
A total of nine men were arrested. Here is the list:
- Bernardo Sanchez, 43, of Huntsville was charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
- Bobby Pincheon, 30, of Hazel Green was charged with first-degree human trafficking and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
- Brandon Adamson, 31, of Athens was charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
- Cameron Abernathy, 29, of Athens was charged with traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act and transmitting obscene material to a child by computer.
- Christopher Tomasello, 31, of Blountsville was charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
- Collin McGee, 30, of Athens was charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
- Edgar Castro-Juarez, 28, of Albertville was charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
- Gilbert Jordan, 30, of Madison was charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
- Jacob Farley, 22, of Huntsville was charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
Bond for Abernathy was set at $100,000. Except for him, all the suspects will go before a judge for an Aniah’s Law hearing on February 15, 2024.
Passed in Alabama in November 2022, Aniah’s Law allows a judge to deny bail to offenders accused of human trafficking, murder and other violent crimes. It was named after Aniah Blanchard, 19, of Homewood, Jefferson County, Alabama, who was abducted from Auburn, Lee County, Alabama and murdered by Ibraheem Yazeed, then 29, in October 2019.
