- On February 11, 2024, while he was in prison in Florida, his son Samuel was critically wounded. That day, Samuel and Genesse went to Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. After Genesse opened fire, she was fatally shot by off-duty police officers Adrian Herrera, then 38, and Christopher Moreno, then 28.
